Join Vultr

Our Engineering team plays a key role in our company's growth, and we are seeking a Software Engineer highly experienced in PHP. You will find yourself at the heart of our operations, working on APIs, backend systems, and more.

You will engage in the development of secure and efficient mechanisms for our multi-user portal, while collaborating effectively with both internal and external teams. This is a meaningful role that will greatly contribute to our platform’s security and user management.

What to expect:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain robust APIs and backend solutions for our PHP-based web portal.
  • Work closely with our Engineering teams to research and create new features, address technical debt, and continually enhance performance.
  • Participate in efforts to boost observability, increase automation, and optimize our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan and roll out new features focusing on security and reliability.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong proficiency with PHP (3+ years preferred).
  • Solid grounding in Linux and/or BSD environments.
  • A belief in thorough documentation as a fundamental component of engineering.
  • Experience dealing with and resolving technical debt.
  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience developing custom APIs (highly preferred).
  • Exposure to configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible is advantageous.
  • Comfortability working in Windows environment would be beneficial, but not mandatory.

Compensation

$75,000 - $90,000

This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
