Job Description
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.
What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, and test high-quality software systems using JavaScript, React, Python, and Kotlin.
- Create tools and libraries that provide foundational functionality for the web application using JavaScript and React.
- Maintain and improve test, build, and release pipelines.
- Incorporate needs and opinions from stakeholders, advocating for ideas and initiatives.
- Provide guidance on core application architectural decisions and drive implementation.
- Collaborate with engineers across the organization on project definition, technical specifications, task breakdown, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Engineer and integrate Affirm’s systems with third-party servicing solutions such as Salesforce Service Cloud.
- Provide support for questions related to software systems and internal tooling.
- Debug code issues using data analysis and stack trace investigation.
- May telecommute.
What We Look For:
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, plus relevant academic or professional experience.
- Software application development experience.
- Experience with Kotlin.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with React.
- Experience with MongoDB.
- Experience with Node.js.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience building RESTful APIs.
- Experience developing and deploying projects using source control, Agile methodologies, and code reviews.
- Experience using modern testing frameworks, including PyTest, for unit, integration, and functional testing.
- Strong debugging skills using data and stack trace analysis.
Base Pay Grade: J
Equity Grade: 4
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure based on factors such as location, experience, and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, and benefits including 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $130,250 – $170,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states): $130,250 – $155,000
